Celebrating Black Creators
I couldn’t let Black History Month end without sharing a list of some of my favorite black business owners, artists, and creators that I’ve been learning from and appreciating recently. Listed below in no particular order.
Black Business Owners:
Rachel Rodgers and her company Hello 7 - if you want to make lots and lots of money, check her out.
Trudi LeBron - I took her Workshop for White Coaches last year and it was so enlightening and beneficial. She’s a great leader in the DEI and Anti-racism space.
Alena Conley from The Reminder Remedy Company - positive psychology based coach, podcaster, business owner, and awesome mama of 4!
Teri Ijeoma - I’m learning how to trade stocks for extra income from her Trade and Travel course. It’s like a foreign language to me, but she explains it in an easy to understand way and teaches you how to make sure you don’t lose all your money (super important!)
Carter Cofield and his tax course Deduct Everything: Your Blueprint to Tax Free Living - Taxes are another foreign language to me, but his course is so easy to follow.
Ashley Brown from Routine and Things - I took her Rock Your Routine training last fall and she is so good at helping you simplify your life through routines.
Black Authors/Books I read recently and enjoyed:
The below links will send you to Amazon, but if you decide to purchase these or any other books, I highly recommend purchasing them from your local Black-owned bookstore. I purchased the below books from Sister’s Uptown Bookstore in NY.
On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker by A’lelia Bundles
Dapper Dan: Made in Harlem - A Memoir by Daniel R. Day
Black Artists
Black Artist Space - great IG account to find new Black artists
Black Musicians
Do you have any recommendations for any other Black-owned businesses I should check out, or any other BIPOC people doing great work I should know about? Send me a DM on IG and let me know. I’m committed to supporting BIPOC individuals in as many different ways as I can.
