Today’s episode of Creating The Path is another short one. Another reminder. This time of the year is often called the season of giving, but I also want to remind you that it’s OK to receive. It’s okay to let people help you when you need it. And it’s okay to not help if you don’t have the bandwidth to do so.

Episode Transcript:
I've got another short episode for you today. Just a simple and important reminder, which is that it's okay to receive. There's nothing wrong with giving. In fact, it's great to give and to help people.
You know, this time of year is often called the season of giving and I think that's great, but I just also want to remind you that it's okay to receive once in a while. It's okay to let people help you if you need it. Even if you don't need it, it's still okay to receive help or benefits from other people.
You know you can be smart about it. Of course don't give your banking info to strangers on the internet so that they can send you money. Is that even a thing anymore? Do people still send out those scam emails, you know, saying that you have some long-lost relative and they want your banking info so they can send you your inheritance? I don't know, I haven't gotten those in years. So maybe that's not actually a thing anymore. But I think you understand what I'm saying, you know, be smart about it. But just remember that it is okay to receive help.
For those of us who are natural nurturers, we often give to the point of causing harm to ourselves, to the point where we burn out. So just remember that it's okay to receive help once in a while or even just to not help sometimes if you don't have the bandwidth to help.
For us natural nurturers, we have a hard time saying no when someone needs help, but just remember that you don't always have to. Just put some boundaries in place sometimes and realize that it's okay to take care of yourself, and it's okay to receive, to be on the receiving end of that helps sometimes.
So again, a short little episode and that's all I have for you today, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I will talk to you next time.
